VBL Scoreboard, Nats Get A Wild Curly W, Orioles Hammered By ‘Stros
In the Valley Baseball League last night, Front Royal outscored Winchester 10-6, Strasburg derailed Purcellville 13-1, and New Market nipped Woodstock 6-5. Waynesboro and Harrisonburg also picked up wins.
Games tonight in the VBL include Winchester at Woodstock in a 5pm twinbill, Front Royal entertains Purcellville, while Strasburg hosts New Market.
Starlin Castro’s 2-run single in the 9th inning gave the Washington Nationals an improbable 13-12 win in Philadelphia yesterday. The Nats overcame deficits of 5-0, 9-5, and 12-11 to get their 9th win in their last 10 games, and moved into second place in the NL East. Josh Bell hit a grand slam, while Kyle Schwarber launched a 3-run homer for the Nationals, who start a 4-game weekend series with Miami tonight. Air time is 6:35 on Sports Radio 1450.
And, the Baltimore Orioles were no match for the Houston Astros last night in a 13-0 loss at Camden Yards. The Birds, who are mired in a 1-13 stretch, take on Toronto tonight at 7:07.
