Klinchock Drafted, Turner Walks Off Sox, O’s Lose In Extra Innings
Shenandoah University pitcher Robert Klinchock became the third member of the SU baseball program to be drafted in the last 4 years when he was selected yesterday in the 17th round by the Detroit Tigers. Klinchock, who finished his Hornet career with a 15-12 record, will now report to the Tiger’s spring training home in Florida, where he will be assigned to one of the team’s minor league affiliates.
Meanwhile, SU Assistant Women’s Basketball coach Abby Diop has resigned to take over the head coaching duties at Averett University in Danville. She helped the Hornets to their firs-ever ODAC championship this past season.

Trea Turner’s 2-run homer in the bottom of the 9th bailed out the Nationals Yesterday in a 6-4 win over Chicago. The White Sox rallied from a 4-1 deficit with a 3-run 8th before Turner’s blast gave the Nats their 9th win in their last 11 games. The nationals head west to start a 4-game weekend set against the Padres. Air time is 9:40 tonight on Sports Radio 1450.
The O’s were walked off in the bottom of the 12th by the Rangers last night 2-1. The two teams play again tonight at 8:05.
And Toronto took a 2-1 series lead in the NBA Finals with a 123-109 win at Golden State. Game 4 is set for tomorrow night at 9.
