SU Scoreboard, NCAA “First Four” Tonight, Spiders Advance In NIT
On the Shenandoah University Athletic scene, nationally-ranked Baseball smacked 4 home runs on the way to a 14-5 win over Washington & Lee. The Hornets improved to 6-1 overall, and 3-0 in the ODAC. Meanwhile, Women’s Soccer fell to Virginia Wesleyan 3-1. Today, Men’s Soccer hosts Lynchburg.
SU Football hosts Randolph-Macon tomorrow night at Shentel Stadium. The Hornets are 0-2 in the Spring season, while the Yellow Jackets arte 2-0. Air time is 6pm on The River 95-3, with kickoff at 6:30. A limited number of fans will be permitted to attend.
The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament tips off tonight with the so-called “First Four” games. Texas Southern takes on Mount St. Mary’s at 5:10, followed by Drake and Wichita State at 6:27. App State plays Norfolk State at 8:40, and UCLA squares off against Michigan State in the nightcap. The Tournament begins in earnest tomorrow.
And, the Richmond Spiders advanced to the second round of the NIT with a 76-66 win over Toledo. The 14-8 Spiders will play again next Thursday.
