Caps Fall Again In OT, Nats Nip Cubs, PGA Begins Today
Craig Smith lit the lamp in the second overtime period to give the Boston Bruins a 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals last night in Game 3 of their NHL Playoff series. The back-and-forth contest was the third consecutive overtime game between the two teams. Alex Ovechkin scored a goal for the Caps, who are down 2-1 in the series. Game 4 is set for tomorrow, starting at 6:15 on The River 95-3.
Juan Soto and Trea Turner combined for 5 hits, and Max Scherzer gutted out 5 innings of 8-strikeout ball in a 4-3 Washington Nationals’ win over the Chicago Cubs last night. The Cubs made it interesting with a run in the bottom of the ninth against reliever Brad Hand, but the Nats were able to hold on and improve to 17-22. The series finale starts at 1:50 this afternoon on Sports Radio 1450
The Tampa Bay Rays erased an early 5-0 Baltimore lead and beat the Orioles last night 9-7. The two teams play today at 12:35.
And, golf’s second major begins today, as the PGA Championship gets underway on the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island. Collin Morikawa is the defending champ, as a star-studded field plays for the famed Wanamaker Trophy.
