SU Baseball Game Moved Up, Another Curly “L” For Nats, O’s Lose In 12
There’s been a schedule change for Shenandoah University Baseball. The Hornet’s ODAC Tournament game with Roanoke has been move up to tonight at 8pm in Salem in order to avoid storms that are forecast for the weekend. The 28-11 Hornets are riding a season-best 9-game winning streak heading into tonight’s game with the Maroons, who are 21-16 on the season. Game 2 of the double-elimination tournament will be played tomorrow at 11:30 regardless of tonight’s outcome.
Meanwhile, 4 SU Women’s lacrosse players have earned All-ODAC honors in selections announced yesterday by the league. Heading up the group is Junior Emma Hardisky and Sophomore Alyson Bittinger, who were named to the first team. Juniors Nikki Zerna and Jess Spindler were named to the All-ODAC second team.
The Milwaukee Brewers got out the brooms yesterday and swept the Washington Nationals with a 7-3 matinee win yesterday. The Brewers jumped on Jeremy Hellickson for 4 runs in the first inning, then withstood a late Nationals rally to complete the 3-game sweep. The Nats, who have won just 3 of their last 15 games, now head to Los Angeles to take on the Dodgers in a 4-game set. Air time tonight is 9:40 on Sports Radio 1450.
And, Chris Sale struck out 14 Orioles last night and the Boston Red Sox got back to the .500 mark with a 2-1 12-inning win at Camden Yards. The O’s are off before hosting the Angels tomorrow at 7:05.
