Hornets Drop 2, NFL Football Tonight, Cavs Outlast Terps
The Shenadoah Hornet basketball teams lost their respective games last night at the Wilkins Center. The SU women saw Randolph Macon pull away in the fourth quarter for a 58-45 win over the Hornets. The Jackets broke open a 2-point game by outscoring SU 58-45 in the final stanza. Ashley Stone led the Hornets with 11. Shenandoah, now 3-3 overall and 0-2 in the ODAC, returns to the Wilkins Center Sunday when they host Lynchburg at 2.
The Hornet men saw former USA South rival Christopher Newport seize control with an 11-1 midway through the first half, and dropped a 91-78 non-conference win last night at the Wilkins Center. The Hornets, now 2-3 overall, were out-shot 49 to 37 percent, and were out-rebounded 55-44. Jaylen Williams led SU with 23. The Hornets will now host Hampden-Sydney Saturday at 2 on The River 95-3.
Tonight’s NFL Thursday Night matchup has the high-powered Saints visiting the Dallas Cowboys. With a win, Dallas would at least temporarily take over sole possession of first place in the NFC East.

In the ACC-Big Ten Challenge, number-4 UVA defeated number-24 Maryland last night 76-71 to stay undefeated at 7-0. Meanwhile, WVU beat Rider 92-78 and improved to 4-2 on the season.
And, the New Orleans Pelicans led by 20 at the half and cruised to a 125-104 win over the Washington Wizards.
