NFL Weekend Begins, Caps Nip Pens, ODAC Honors For 2 SU Athletes
Shenandoah University women’s soccer had 2 players earn All-ODAC honors in selections announced yesterday by the league. Junior Emily Yergin was named to the ODAC first team at forward, while Rebecca Collimore was named to the ODAC third team at midfield.
Hornet football wraps up it’s season Saturday at Washington & Lee. Air time is 12:30 on The River 95-3. Meanwhile SU Women’s basketball will entertain Hood at the Wilkins Center Saturday at 2, while the men will tip off in Baltimore against UMBC at 1pm. Hornet Cross Country will compete in the NCAA Regionals Saturday.
TJ Oshie lit the lamp with 1:14 remaining to lift the Washington Capitals past the Pittsburgh Penguins last night 2-1. With the victory, the Caps improve to 7-4-3. They’ll face-off against Columbus tomorrow night, starting at 6:45 on NBC SportsRadio 1450.
The weekend in the NFL begins tonight with Cam Newton & the Carolina Panthers taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20. This Sunday, the Redskins travel to Tampa Bay, while the Ravens have the weekend off.
