Sherando & Strasburg Win, Nats Win 5th Straight, and NFL Week 2 Begins
In rescheduled high school football last night:
Sherando routed Loudoun Valley 56-14
and Strasburg defeated Rappahannock 54-6
Tonight, among the rescheduled games:
Clarke plays at Waynesboro at 7
Skyline will play at Handley at 4
Warren County plays at James Wood
and Stonewall Jackson travels to Luray
There are no statewide games on Friday
The Hobart-SU football gameat Shentel Stadium Saturday is a “go”. Air time is 6:30 on the River 95-3.
The WVU-NC State, and Virginia Tech-East Carolina football games will not be played, while the UVA-Ohio game will be played Saturday at 4:30 in Nashville.
The Washington Nationals won their 5th straight last night, beating the Phillies 5-1 to complete a 3-game sweep. Bryce Harper and Juan Soto homered for the Nats, and Stephen Strasburg provided another quality start. The Nationals, now 2 games over .500, play a makeup game with the Cubs this afternoon at 4:05 in DC. Air time is 3:30 on NBC SportsRadio 1450.
The Oakland A’s posted 10 runs in the 3rd inning, and blanked the Orioles 10-0 at Camden Yards. The O’s host the A’s tonight at 7:05.
Week 2 of the NFL season begins tonight as the 1-0 Baltimore Ravens travel to Cincinnati to take on the 1-0 Bengals in an AFC North matchup. Kickoff is set for 8:20.
