Bryce’s Last Home Game As A National?…O’s Split…NFL Week 4 Begins

On the Shenandoah University sports scene,
Women’s Soccer outscored Mary Washington 4-1
Men’s Soccer was blanked by Wesley 1-0
And Volleyball nipped Penn State-Altoona 3-2

SU Football entertains Ferrum Saturday afternoon as ODAC play begins. Air time is 12:30 on The River 95-3.

In what was probably his last home game as a Washington National, Bryce Harper said goodbye to the rain-soaked fans in DC last night, as the Nats beat the Marlins in a 9-3, 7-inning game. Victor Robles went 4-for-5, with 5 RBI’s in the win. Harper is expected to move on after this season, as he tests the free agent market. The Nationals are off today before wrapping up the season in Colorado this weekend.

The Orioles and Red Sox split a doubleheader yesterday, the Sox pounding the O’s in the afternoon game 19-3, and the Birds winning the nightcap 10-3. With the loss in the opener, the Orioles dropped to 46-112 on the season. The Astros visit Camden Yards tonight for a 7:05 start.

Week 4 begins tonight in the NFL as Kirk Cousins and the Vikings take on the Rams, in what many think could be a preview of the NFC title game. Kickoff is set for 8:20.

And, the Ryder Cup begins tomorrow outside Paris, France. Captain Jim Furyk leads a star-studded USA team against a European squad eager to take back the cup. Tomorrow and Saturday feature 4-ball and alternate-shot matches, with the singles matches being held on Sunday.
