SU Schedule, Canes Force Game 7, Nats Bullpen Struggles Again

There were no Shenandoah University athletic events yesterday. On the schedule today, Hornet baseball hosts W&L at 4 in ODAC play, and Women’s tennis visits Bridgewater.

IN the NHL Playoffs, the Carolina Hurricanes broke a 2-2 tie with 3 third period goals in a 5-2 win last night over the Washington Capitals. Alex Ovechkin’s late first period goal gave the Caps a 2-1 lead, but it was all Carolina after that, as the series now moves to DC for a deciding Game 7. Air time Wednesday night is 7:15 on Sports Radio 1450.

The Washington Nationals bullpen gave up 2 home runs last night in a 7-5 loss to the Colorado Rockies. Brian Dozier had a 3-run home for the Nats, who dropped below the 500 mark at 10-11. The nationals and Rockies play game 2 of the series tonight in Colorado. Air time is 8:10 on Sports Radio 1450.

The White Sox hammered Baltimore last night 12-2. The 2 teams play again tonight at Camden Yards. First pitch is 7:05.

And, the Washington Redskins are reportedly interested in Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins as the team prepares for this weekend’s NFL Draft. The ‘Skins will pick 15th in the opening round. The Arizona Cardinals have the number-one overall pick.
