NBA Moves Back Reopening, NFL Plan, Kenseth Un-retires
The NBA has moved back the date to reopen it’s practice facilities to May 8th at the earliest, after media reports said Sunday that it would be May 1st. The league said yesterday that the extra time would be needed to make sure player training at the facilities would be safe and controlled, and that there would be strict rules when they do reopen to protect against the coronavirus.
The NFL has created a contingency plan for a schedule that would start the regular season in in mid-October, have no bye weeks, and hold the Super Bowl February 28th, 3 weeks later than normal, according to the Sports Business Journal. That plan would depend on how much the pandemic has been brought under control.
And former NASCAR champ Matt Kenseth is coming out of retirement to replace the fired Kyle Larson with Chip Ganassi Racing. Larson was dropped 2 weeks ago after using a racial slur during a virtual racing event. The 48 year-old Kenseth retired in 2017.
