Nats Hang On For The Curly “W”, O’s Swept By Yanks

The Washington Nationals survived a furious Cincinnati comeback last night and won game one of their 3-game set in DC, 7-6. Trea Turner had a 4-RBI night for the Nats, including a 3-run homer that broke the game open. After a shaky start, Erick Fedde was solid for the Nationals, giving up only 2 runs in 6 innings to get the victory.Sean Doolittle gave up 2 runs in the 9th, but did enough to earn his 27th save of the year. The Nats host the Reds tonight starting at 6:35 on Sports Radio 1450.

The Baltimore Orioles were swept by the New York Yankees in a day-night doubleheader in the Big Apple, 8-5 and 11-8. The Yankees have now won 14 straight against Baltimore and 15 of 17 this season. In addition, the Yanks have hit 59 homers against the Birds in 2019. The Yankees host the O’s again tonight at 7:05.

The Washington Redskins are preparing to take on the Cincinnati Bengals in a Thursday matchup. Meanwhile, the ‘Skins are refusing to take any trade offers for holdout left tackle Trent Williams. Kickoff Thursday night from Fed-Ex Field is 7:30.
