A Win For SU Hoops, ‘Skins Lose Game and QB, HS Basketball Tonight
The SU Hornet men’s basketball earned their third win last night, defeating Juniata 76-65 in Huntingdon, Pa. The Hornets erased an early 5-point deficit, led by 10 at the break, and by as many as 24 in the second half. Chris Chaney led the way for SU with 21 points, while Jalyn Jarrett added 13. The 3-4 Hornets get back to ODAC play Saturday at 2 when they host Guilford at the Wilkins Center. You can hear the action on The River 95-3.
High school basketball is underway around the area, and tonight, Warren County entertains Strasburg. Air time is 7:20 on NBC SportsRadio 1450.
The Washington Redskins fell to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football 28-13. The ‘Skins also lost backup QB Colt McCoy, who suffered a broken leg in the first half. He was replaced by the newly-signed Mark Sanchez, who struggled against a Philly defense that held Washington to just 36 yards after halftime. Carson Wentz threw for over 300 yards as the Eagles improved to 6-6 on the season. The Redskins are now 6-6 and face the Giants on Sunday.
The Capitals are in Vegas tonight to take on the Golden Knights. Face off is scheduled for 10 pm.
The Wizards improved to 10-14 with a 110-107 win over the Knicks.
And the three Heisman Trophy finalists have been announced. Tua Tagovailoa of Alabama, Kyler Murray of Oklahoma, and Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins will head to New York Saturday for the 84th presentation of college football’s most prestigious award.
