Hornet Women Headed To PA., Caps-Sens Tonight, Hokies Host Duke
The Shenandoah University women’s basketball team will begin play in the NCAA Division 3 tournament this Friday with a trip to DeSales University. The Bulldogs are 25-2 and are riding a 20-game win streak, while the Hornets made an improbable run through the ODAC tournament this past weekend to qualify. Tip-off from Center Valley, Pa.,is scheduled for 7pm.
In other SU news, senior Tristan Baker was named ODAC baseball player of the week in selections made yesterday by the league. Baker led the Hornets to a doubleheader sweep of Neumann on Sunday with a 4-for-8 performance, including his first career home run.
In college hoop, the number-20 Virginia Tech entertains third-ranked Duke tonight in Blacksburg. The Hokies are 21-6 overall and 10-5 in the ACC, while the Blue Devils are 24-3 and 12-2 in the conference. Duke will be without the services of freshman Zion Williamson. Tip off is at 7pm.
WVU entertains TCU tonight in Morgantown.
And, the Washington Capitals are back on the ice tonight in DC for a
7pm skate against the lowly Ottawa Senators. The Caps are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games, and just 2 points out of first place in the NHL’s Metro Division. Air time is 6:45 on Sports Radio 1450.
