HS B-Ball Results, Va Tech Falls To Louisville, SU Women On The Road
In area high school boys basketball from last night:
Buffalo Gap beat Stonewall Jackson 44-40
Stuarts Draft routed Luray 104-53
Mason ran past Strasburg 74-53
Heritage Academy defeated Mountain View Christian 55-42
Wakefield over Fredericksburg Christian 87-34
In girls basketball:
Luray beat Stuarts Draft 57-50
Strasburg defeated Mason 60-51
Shenandoah Valley Christian dropped Loudoun Home School 62-56
Chelsea ran past St Michael 41-19
It was Madison over Clarke 56-38
Tonight, it’s William Monroe visiting Warren County in boys high school hoop. Tip off is 7:30 on Sports Radio 1450.
The Shenandoah University women will be in Ashland tonight for an ODAC basketball game with Randolph Macon. With a win, the Hornets would get to the .500 mark on the season. Tip off is at 7.
The SU men will play at Bridgewater tomorrow at 7. You can hear that game on The River 95-3.
Virginia Tech moved up one spot in this week’s AP College Basketball Poll. The number-11 Hokies then lost to number-16 Louisville last night 72-64 at home. Virginia stayed at number-3, as they prepare for a big matchup with number-2 Duke this weekend.
Meanwhile, 18th-ranked Texas Tech routed WVU last night 81-50.
The Washington Wizards lost to the lowly Atlanta Hawks last night 137-129. The Wiz are 3 games back of the final playoff spot in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. Bradley Beal had 27 for Washington.
And, the Washington Capital’s six-game homestand continues tonight when they entertain Vancouver. The Caps, losers in 8 out of their last 9 games, are currently 28-18-6, and are tied for second in the NHL’s Metro Division.
