Clemson Routs Tide, SU Women Back In Action, Area B-Ball Scoreboard
In last night’s high school girl’s basketball:
Faquier beat Warren County 49-30
The James Wood girls routed Clarke County 58-31
In boy’s action, Faquier defeated Warren County 63-32
Shenandoah University women’s basketball returns to action tonight with an ODAC matchup at Bridgewater. Tip off is at 7. The Hornets are 6-7 overall, and 2-4 in the league.
The SU men play tomorrow night at nationally-ranked Randolph Macon. Tip off from Ashland is 7pm, and you can catch the action on The River 95-3.
The Clemson Tigers sit atop the college football world this morning after routing top-seed Alabama in the CFP Championship Game, 44-16.
The Tigers scored early on a pick-6, then pulled away in the second period to win their third-ever national title. Clemson also becomes the first-ever 15-0 team in the modern era of college football. Freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw for 347 yards in outdueling Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa.
Duke is once again the top-ranked team in this week’s AP college basketball poll. 13-0 UVA comes in at number-four, while Virginia Tech is number-nine this week.
And, the Washington Capitals are back on the ice tonight when they entertain the Philadelphia Flyers. The Caps are 25-12-4, good for first place in the NHL’s Metro Division. Air time tonight is 7:15 on
