Nats Fall To 1-3, O’s-Marlins PPD, Latimer On Exempt List
The Washington Nationals are off to a 1-3 start after a 4-1 loss to Toronto last night. Nats starter Anibal Sanchez gave up 4 solo home runs in the loss. The Nationals outhit the Jays 11-7 but squandered several scoring opportunities. Game 2 of the series is tonight at 6:05 on CBS Sports radio 1450.
The O’s-Marlins game last night was postponed due to an outbreak of coronavirus among Miami players and staffers. In addition, game 2 of their series is also postponed for tonight. The Yankees-Phillies contest was also postponed last night in Philadelphia, because New York would have been in the clubhouse used by the Marlins this past weekend. Commissioner Rob Manfred said yesterday he thinks MLB can keep it’s players safe and continue to play.
And, Washington wide receiver Cody Latimer is one of 3 NFL players put on the Commissioner’s Exempt List yesterday while facing felony charges. Players on that list can’t play or practice, but do get paid. Latimer faces felony illegal discharge of a firearm in Colorado. NFL training camps open today around the league.
