The Washington Nationals begin a stretch of games against sub-500 teams tonight when they visit the Miami Marlins. After a 6-4 homestand, the Nats are 8 games behind the Braves in the NL East. Max Scherzer gets the ball for the Nationals tonight, with a 6:40 air time on Sports Radio 1450.
Former Oriole Manny Machado and the San Diego Padres visit Camden Yards tonight to begin a 2-game set with the Birds. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.

And, in the FIFA World Cup, the USA Women’s soccer team needed 2 penalty goals from captain Megan Rapinoe to get past pesky Spain 2-1 in the round of 16 yesterday. The second goal, in the game’s 76th minute, needed video review to determine if a penalty had occurred.
