VBL Scoreboard, Nats & O’s Return To Action Tonight
In the Valley Baseball League last night:
The Winchester Royals silenced the Purcellville Cannons, 7-3
The Covington Lumberjacks chopped down Woodstock 7-3
And Staunton outslugged Harrisonburg 12-3

Stephen Strasburg takes the ball tonight as the Nationals return home to take on the White Sox in interleague play. The Nats have won 7 of their last 9 and are now just 6 and 1/2 games back in the NL East. Game one of the 2-game set is on the air at 6:35 on Sports Radio 1450.
Off the field, the Nationals took right-handed pitcher Jackson Rutledge with the 17th overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft. Rutledge is a 6-foot 8 inch flamethrower from San Jacinto Junior College in California and is the highest JC pick since the Nats took Bryce Harper in 2010.
The Baltimore Orioles return to action tonight when they take on the Texas Rangers in the Lone Star State. First pitch is set for 8:05. Yesterday the O’s took Oregon State catcher Adley Rutschman as the number one overall pick in the Major League Draft.
And the Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues are tied at 2 games apiece in the Stanley Cup Finals after the Blues’ 4-2 win last night. The series heads back to Boston Thursday night for game 5.
