Hornet Sports Sked, WVU Season Ends, Caps-Canes Tonight
No Shenandoah University athletic events yesterday. Today:
Baseball returns to action with a single home game against Eastern Mennonite. SU Baseball is currently 9-4 on the season and 5-2 in the ODAC. First pitch is scheduled for 4pm at Bridgeforth Field.
Meanwhile, SU Softball plays a 3 o’clock doubleheader at Bridgewater.
Shenandoah is 11-10 overall and 2-2 in the ODAC.
The WVU Men’s basketball season came to an end last night with a 109-91 loss to Coastal Carolina in the second round of the CBI Tournament. The 109 points allowed was the most ever given up at home by the Mountaineers. WVU finishes it’s season at 15-21.
The West Virginia women continue play against Northwestern tomorrow at 7 in the third round of the NIT. The Virginia Tech women will take on JMU Thursday in the NIT.
The Washington Capitals are back on the ice tonight with a 7pm face off against the Carolina Hurricanes. It’s the first of a home-and-home with the Canes, with tonight’s game in DC. You can hear the action on CBS Sports Radio 1450. The Stanley Cup Champion Caps were honored yesterday in a ceremony at the White House.
And, the 2019 season begins for the Washington Nationals Thursday when they entertain the New York Mets. The Nats came in at number 5 in the first MLB.com power rankings of the year. Max Scherzer takes the ball for the Nats and you can hear the action on CBS Sports Radio 1450.
