Caps & Nats Back In Action, Westbrook Sets Triple-Double Mark
The Washington Capitals wrap up the regular season tonight against the Boston Bruins. Not much is on the line for a banged-up Caps squad tonight, as they are locked in to second-place in the NHL’s Eastern Division. the Bruins will be the Capitals’ first-round opponent in the playoffs which begin Saturday. Air time for game one is 7pm on the River 95-3.
The Washington Nationals start a midweek series against the Philadelphia Phillies tonight. The Phils are one game back of the Mets the NL East, while the Nats sit in the basement of the division, 3 and 1/2 games behind. Eric Fedde takes the ball for the Nats, while Chase Anderson climbs the hill for the Phillies. Air time is 6:35 on Sports Radio 1450.
The Orioles stopped the Red Sox last night 4-1. Trey Mancini drove in 2 for the Birds, who take on the Mets tonight at 7:10.
And Russell Westbrook has surpassed Oscar Robertson’s NBA record for triple-doubles. Westbrook scored his 182nd triple double last night in a 125-124 loss to Atlanta, with 21 points, 16 assists, and 10 rebounds. The “Big O’s” record stood for 47 years.
