Cowboys Fall To Titans, Caps Double Up Oilers, CFP Rankings Out Today
All quiet on the Shenandoah University Sports scene. Yesterday, Hornet baseball coach Kevin Anderson announced his 3 co-captains for the 2019 campaign. Tristan Baker, Robert Klinchock, and Luke Nussman will serve as co-captains, with 11 teammates serving as class representatives.
SU basketball gets underway Saturday with the men playing an exhibition against UMBC, the team that knocked UVA out of the NCAA basketball tournament earlier this year. Meanwhile, the Hornet women tip off against Hood at the Wilkins Center at 2.
SU football plays it’s finale at Washington & Lee Saturday at 1 on the River 95-3, while Cross Country will compete in the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championships.
Marcus Mariota completed 21-of-29 for 240 yards to lead the Tennessee Titans past the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. Mariota also ran for a late touchdown to seal the deal as the Titans improve to 4-4. The Cowboys fall to 3-5.
Travis Boyd had 2 assists in his season debut as the Washington Capitals doubled up Edmonton 4-2. Alex Ovechkin had a goal for the Caps, his 618th career tally, as Washington improved to 6-4-3 on the season. Next up, a home skate against rival Pittsburgh tomorrow night. Air time 7:15 on NBC SportsRadio 1450.
And the second College Football Playoff rankings come out today. Alabama and Clemson are expected to stay 1-2 after a weekend where 9 of the 25 ranked CFP teams lost.
