Saints Win In OT, MLB Results, Morgan Obit
Wil Lutz kicked a 36-yard field goal in overtime, and that was the difference in a 30-27 New Orleans Saints win over the LA Chargers in the NFL Monday Night game. Saints QB Drew Brees completed 33 of 47 passes for 325 yards, as New Orleans improved to 3-2. The 1-4 Chargers missed a field goal at the end of regulation that would have given them the win.
In the MLB Playoffs:
The Braves beat the Dodgers 5-1 to take a 1-0 lead in the NLCS.
Meanwhile,Tampa Bay took a 2-0 ALCS lead with a 4-2 win over Houston.
Both League Championship Series’ resume today.
And, a member of baseball’s Big Red Machine has died. Hall Of Famer Joe Morgan passed away yesterday from a form of bone cancer at his California home. Morgan, the NL MVP in 1975 and 1976, led the Cincinnati Reds to the World Series title in both those years. He was 77.
