Nats Drop To 12-20, O’s End Losing Streak, NFL Takes Over Probe
The Washington Nationals continue to struggle and are now 12-20 after an 8-6 loss last night in Philadelphia. Nats starter Erick Fedde gave up 6 runs in 4 innings to take the loss. Trea Turner continued to stay red-hot for Washington with a 4-for-5 night, giving him 15 hits in his last 4 games. Juan Soto homered twice for the Nats, who take on the Phillies again tonight, starting at 6:35 on CBS Sports radio 1450.
The Baltimore Orioles plated 2 runs in the 11th and held on for a 4-3 win over Toronto yesterday. With the win, the O’s broke their 5-game losing skid. The Orioles host the Mets tonight at Camden Yards. First pitch is 7:35.
And, the NFL has taken over the independent investigation into the workplace conduct of The Washington Football Team. Owner Dan Snyder said he suggested it, so that the results are “thorough, complete, and trusted by the fans, the players, our employees, and the public.”
The Washington Post reported last month that 15 female former employees said they were sexually harassed during their time with the organization.
And the US Open Tennis Tournament is underway in Queens, New York, without fans. Among the winners yesterday were Novak Djokovic and 2018 women’s champ Naomi Osaka.
