Jets, Rams Win In MNF Doubleheader, Nats Play 2 Today…
In the Monday Night Football doubleheader last night, rookie Sam Darnold shook off a “pick-6” on his very first NFL pass, and went on to lead the Jets to a 48-17 win over the Detroit Lions last night.
In the late game, Todd Gurley rushed for over 100 yards as the Rams spoiled the coaching return of John Gruden, beating the Raiders 33-13.
The Nationals game in Philadelphia was postponed last night because of unplayable field conditions. The Phillies organization left the tarp off the field this past weekend while the team was out of town, and officials deemed the field unsafe. The teams will play a 3:05 doubleheader today, weather permitting. Air time is 2:30 on NBC SportsRadio 1450.
The Oakland A’s visit Camden Yards tonight to take on the Orioles. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.
Brad Keselowski passed Denny Hamlin with just over a lap to go to win the rain-delayed Brickyard 400 NASCAR Cup race yesterday. It was the final race of NASCAR’s regular season, with the playoffs starting next weekend in Vegas.
Keegan Bradley beat Justin Rose in a playoff to win the rain-delayed BMW Championship. It was Bradley’s first PGA Tour win in 6 years. Despite losing, Rose becomes the world’s number-one player.
And, US Ryder Cup Captain Jim Furyk has named Tony Finau as his final pick to round out the team.
