Steelers & Titans Win On MNF, Nats Back In Action Tonight, O’s Chop Braves
There were 2 Monday Night football games last night as the NFL wrapped up Week One. Ben Roethlisberger threw 3 touchdown passes as the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the New York Giants 26-16. Benny Snell Jr. added 113 yards rushing for the Steelers, who held the Giants to just 29 yards rushing.
In the late game, Stephen Gostkowski missed 4 kicks but made the one that counted as the Tennessee Titans nipped the Denver broncos 16-14.
Gostkowski hit the game-winning field goal with just 17 seconds left at the end of an 83-yard Titans’ drive. Ryan Tannehill threw for 2 scores and Derrick Henry rushed for 116 yards for the winners.
The Washington Nationals get back to action tonight against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Nats are 17-28, and in the NL East cellar with just 15 games remaining in the shortened season. Air time is 6:10 on CBS Sports Radio.
And the Baltimore Orioles posted 9 runs in the third inning on the way to a 14-1 rout of the Atlanta Braves. Jose Iglesias led the 15-hit Baltimore onslaught by going 4-for-4 and driving in 4 runs, while
Jorge Lopez tossed 7 innings of 1-run baseball. The O’s host the Braves again tonight at 7:35.
