Sanchez Phoils Phils, O’s At Red Sox, Raiders Down Saints On MNF
Anibal Sanchez pitched 5 solid innings as the Washington Nationals
beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-1 last night. Sanchez allowed just 1 run and 4 hits in his strongest outing of the season. Asdrubal Cabrera and Brock Holt each had 2-hit nights for the Nats, who dealt Zack Wheeler his first loss of the season. The Nationals and Phillies play a doubleheader today, with a 2:35 air time on CBS Sports Radio 1450.
The Baltimore Orioles return to action tonight when they travel to Fenway Park to take on the Red Sox. The Birds are 23-31 with just 6 games left to play. First pitch tonight is 7:30.
And, the Las Vegas Raiders are 2-0 after beating the New Orleans Saints 34-24 on the 50th anniversary of Monday Night Football.
Derek Carr threw for 282 yards and 3 scores for the winners, while Drew Brees had over 300 yards passing in a losing effort. The Saints fell to 1-1 on the season.
