NFL Adds 2 Playoff Teams, Brady Keeps Number 12, Skins Sign LB
The NFL is adding 2 more teams to the postseason playoffs. The move from 12 to 14 teams starts with the upcoming season. Under the new format, the 2 conference champs would receive a first-round bye, while teams 2-7 would play in a wild-card round. The latest word is that the NFL still plans on a full 16 game schedule, but is leaving open the possibility of a later start date due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Tom Brady is moving from New England to Tampa Bay, but he’ll still keep his number 12 jersey. Bucs wide receiver Chris Godwin offered his jersey number to Brady, who gratefully accepted, according to the team’s website. Godwin will wear number 14.
And the Washington Redskins made another addition to the defense yesterday, signing linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis. terms of the deal were not disclosed. Louis played 14 games last season with the Chicago Bears, with 32 tackles and one interception. The 28 year-old fourth-round pick is entering his 7th NFL season.
