SU Baseball Beats BC, Nats Nip Cardinals, Soto Placed On IL

Shenandoah University Baseball improved to 21-6 and 14-3 in the ODAC with a 17-8 win over Bridgewater yesterday. The Hornets pounded out 18 hits in the win, and for the second consecutive day, hit four home runs. Grant Thompson went 4-for-6 for SU, which finished off the season sweep of the Eagles.

On the Shenandoah University schedule today, Men’s Lacrosse hosts 5th-ranked Lynchburg at 7pm.

The Washington Nationals plated 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to nip the St. Louis Cardinals 3-2. After two rough outings, Nats’ starter Patrick Corbin was sharp, throwing six shutout innings, before giving way to his bullpen. Brad Hand picked up the save for Washington, who takes on the Cardinals again this afternoon starting at 3:35 on Sports Radio 1450.

In other Nats’ news, Juan Soto was placed on the 10-day injured reserve list after an MRI revealed a shoulder strain. The Nationals replaced Soto by recalling outfielder Yadiel Hernandez from the team’s alternate site.
