The Shenandoah University women held Eastern Mennonite to just 9 first half points on their way to a 79-43 ODAC win in Harrisonburg.
Jordan Sondrol had 14 points for SU, who improved to 13-7 overall and 9-4 in the league.
The Hornet men host W&L tonight at the Wilkins Center. Air time is 6:45 on the River 95-3.
Meanwhile, Georgia Tech built a 38-18 halftime lead and cruised to an easy 76-57 win over Virginia Tech last night. The Hokies, who lost their 4th game in a row, fell to 14-9 on the season, while the Yellow Jackets improved to 11-12.
And, trailing 2-1 midway through the 3rd period, the Washington Capitals got 3 consecutive goals from Alex Ovechkin in a 4-2 win over the lowly LA Kings. Ovechkin’s first 2 goals came in a 70-second span, and his empty-netter put the finishing touches on the Caps 36th win of the season. The “Great 8” is now just 2 goals shy of the 700 mark for his career.
