VBL Scoreboard…Nats Rout Rockies…Skins Open Camp Today

In the Valley Baseball League last night:
Woodstock blanked Winchester 6-0
Strasburg nipped New Market 5-4
Covington defeated Staunton 7-4
Waynesboro pounded Charlottesville 10-4
and Purcellville at Front Royal was rescheduled

Tonight in the VBL:
Strasburg travels to Staunton for an 11am game, then hosts Front Royal at 7.
Winchester plays at Purcellville
New Market entertains Woodstock
Charlottesville heads to Covington
Waynesboro plays at Harrisonburg

Trea Turner hit for the cycle and Stephen Strasburg tossed 6 shutout innings as the Washington Nationals routed Colorado last night 11-1.
The Nats pounded out 17 hits and blew the game open with an 8-run seventh inning, as they closed to within 5 1/2 games of the Atlanta Braves in the NL East. The two teams play a doubleheader at Nats Park today. Air times are 12:35 and 6:35 on Sports Radio 1450.

Baltimore jumped out to an early 7-2 lead and made the score stand up for just their 32nd win of the year. Dylan Bundy got the win for the Birds with 6 strong innings, giving up just 2 runs on 4 hits. The two teams play the series finale this afternoon at 3:40.

The Washington Redskins open training camp in Richmond today. They’ll open the preseason August 8th against the Cleveland Browns.

And, the play-by-play of Shenandoah University football is once again on The River 95-3. The Hornets kick off the 2019 campaign September 7th with a home game against Methodist University.
