VBL Scores, June Swoon Continues For Nats, O’s Rout Mets

In the Valley Baseball League last night, Strasburg beat Front Royal 9-4, while Woodstock routed New Market 14-3. Among the games tonight, Front Royal hosts New Market, Strasburg travels to Purcellville, and Winchester entertains Woodstock.

The Washington Nationals remain mired in the basement of the NL East after a 3-1 loss to Tampa Bay last night. Trey Turner drove in the lone run for the 24-33 Nats, who take on the Rays tonight starting at 6:40 on Sports Radio 1450.

Freddy Galvis led a 16-hit Orioles’ attack in a 10-3 win over the Mets at Camden yards. Every Baltimore starter but one had at least one hit to back the 7-strikeout pitching of Bruce Zimmermann. The Birds, who are 5-1 in June, take on the Mets again tonight at 7:05

And, Hall Of Fame horse trainer Bob Baffert and the owners of Medina Spirit has filed a lawsuit against Kentucky racing officials in the wake of that horse’s twice-positive tests for a banned steroid following the Kentucky Derby. Baffert was suspended last week by Churchill Downs.
