VHSL Update, SU Scoreboard, Hokies Bow Out Of ACC Tournament
In the VHSL basketball state semifinals last night:
Millbrook’s boys were eliminated by Wilson 77-58 in Class 4
Cave Spring beat Central in Class 3 boy’s action 64-53
Monocan ousted Millbrook’s girls in Class 4 74-64
and Luray advanced with a 52-36 win over Strasburg in girl’s Class 2
Luray will play Gate City Thursday for the Class 2 State Championship. Tip off is 12:30 at the Siegel Center at VCU.
On the Shenandoah University scoreboard:
Softball beat MacMurray 2-0 and New Jersey City 19-1 in Myrtle Beach to even it’s record at 5-5.
Women’s Lacrosse beat Bridgewater State in Puerto Rico 19-8 to improve to 6-0
Virginia Wesleyan beat Women’s Tennis 5-1
And Hornet Baseball climbed to number-11 in the latest D3baseball.com national poll.
Women’s Tennis and Women’s Lacrosse are in action today.
The Virginia Tech Hokies were unceremoniously booted from the ACC Basketball Tournament in Greensboro with a 78-56 loss to 14-seed North Carolina. The 14-18 Tar Heels broke the game open by outscoring
Tech 46-30 in the second stanza. The Hokies finish their season at 16-16.
And, Miami nipped the Washington Nationals 3-2 yesterday in Spring Training action. Max Scherzer was scratched from his scheduled start yesterday because of fatigue on his right side. The Nats take on the Astros today at 1:05. Nationals baseball can be heard again this season on CBS Sports Radio 1450.
