Nats Drop Series Opener, O’s PPD Again, 101st PGA Set To Begin
All quiet on the Shenandoah University scene. Baseball will play Kean Friday in their NCAA Regional opener. And Track & Field’s Shamyra Wilkerson is all but a lock to compete in the NCAA Championships later this month. The top 20 finishers are selected for each event, and as of Monday, she was 17th in the 100-meter dash, and 8th in the 200.
Wilson Ramos haunted his former team with a first-inning grand slam, and Noah Syndergaard was dominant in a 6-2 Mets win over the Nationals last night. The Nationals only offense was a 2-run homer by Victor Robles, as they fall to 16-25 on the season. Jeremy Hellickson took the loss for the Nats, who host the Mets again tonight starting at 6:35 on Sports Radio 1450.
The Orioles and Yankees were postponed again last night. The two teams will play a twinbill today at Yankee Stadium starting at 3:05.
And, the 101st PGA Championship begins tomorrow as golf’s top players
take on the demanding Bethpage Black course in New York. Cold and wet conditions are expected for golf’s second major of the year.
