SU Women’s LAX Honors, Cubs Double Up Nats, Caps-Bruins Game 3 Tonight

On the Shenandoah University scene, 2 Women’s Lacrosse players have been named to the All-Region team in selections made by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association. Junior Alyson Bittinger and sophomore Emma Stiffler were named to the first and second team All-Chesapeake region, respectively. The two were previously named to the All-ODAC first team.

The Washington Nationals fell to the Chicago Cubs for the second straight night, in a 6-3 loss at Wrigley Field. Ryan Zimmerman and Juan Soto had 2 hits each for the Nats, who dropped to 16-22 on the season. Game 3 of the 4-game midweek series is tonight on Sports Radio 1450, starting at 7:10.

The Tampa Bay Rays pounded out 15 hits on the way to a 13-6 win over the Baltimore Orioles. The 2 teams play again tonight at 7:05.

The Washington Capitals head to Boston tonight for Game 3 of their opening round playoff series with the Bruins. The series is tied at a game apiece, with both contests having gone to overtime. Air time tonight is 6:15 on The River 95-3.

And, the Boston Celtics pulled away from the Washington Wizards last night 118-100 in the NBA play-in tournament. The Wizards now face a must-win game against Indiana tomorrow if they are to enter the NBA Playoffs as the number-8 seed.
