Amed Rosario’s infield hit in the bottom of the ninth plated the winning run as the New York Mets beat the Washington Nationals last night at Citi Field 6-5. The Nats bullpen blew 2 separate leads, as Washington fell 10 games below .500 for the first time since 2011.
Juan Soto and Brian Dozier homered for the Nationals, who will send Max Scherzer to the mound tonight for game 3. Air time is 6:40 on Sports Radio 1450.
And, the Yankees pounded out 12 hits on the way to an 11-4 rout of the Baltimore Orioles. Gary Sanchez and Clint Frazier combined for 9 RBI as New York built a 9-0 lead and cruised to the victory. The Yanks and O’s play again tonight at Camden Yards. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.
