SU Baseball Pairing Set, Braves Stop Nats, Caps-Rangers Tonight
On the Shenandoah University sports scene, pairings have been announced for the 2021 ODAC Baseball Tournament. 4th seed SU will host 5th seed Hampden-Sydney in a best-of-three series starting Friday at 2. The first 2 games are scheduled for Friday, with a Game Three slated for Saturday if neccesary. The Hornets enter the ODAC Tourney at 26-8, while the Tigers are 17-12. The ODAC Baseball Tournament will conclude the weekend of May 21st, with the NCAA D-3 Baseball Tournament selections to be made on May 23rd.
Huascar Ynoa tossed seven innings of 1-run, 4-hit baseball, and hit a grand slam homer as the Atlanta Braves ended the Washington Nationals’ 4-game win streak with a 6-1 win last night in DC. Joe Ross gave up only 2 earned runs, but took his second loss of the season. Trea Turner went 2-for-3 for his 11th multi-hit game of the season for the Nats, who take on the Braves again tonight starting at 6:35 on Sports Radio 1450.
Seattle erased a 1-1 game with 4 runs in the 8th inning and beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-2. the 2 teams play the getaway game today at 3:40.
And, the Washington Capitals skate against the New York Rangers tonight. The Caps are 2 points behind the Penguins in the NHL’s Eastern Division. Air time is 6:45 on The River 95-3.
