Hornet Basketball Plays Tonight, CFP Rankings, ‘Skins claim Foster
The Shenandoah Hornet men and women’s basketball team will play tonight at the Wilkins Center. At 5, the SU women entertain defending ODAC champ Randolph-Macon, while the men will tip off at 7 against former USA South rival Christopher Newport. You can catch the men’s game starting around 6:50 on The River 95-3.
The next-to-last College Football Playoff Rankings were released last night, with no change in the top 3. Alabama, Clemson, and Notre Dame remained in those spots, while Georgia replaced Michigan at number 4. The Wolverines dropped all the way to seventh, while Oklahoma and Ohio State are 5th and 6th respectively. The final CFP rankings will be released after this weekend’s conference championship games. Bowl bids will also go out on Sunday.
The Washington Redskins are taking some heat this morning after claiming Reuben Foster off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners cut Foster following his second domestic violence arrest. However, Foster is on the commissioner’s exempt list, meaning he can’t practice or attend games.
Gonzaga is the new number one team in the AP College Basketball Poll, as Duke falls to number 3. 6-0 UVA received one first-place vote and comes in at number 4, while Virginia Tech is 13th.
