Sox Take Game One, SU Update
On the Shenandoah University sports docket:
Field hockey improved to 13-4 with a 3-0 home win against Frostburg State last night. The women wrap up their regular season ODAC slate Saturday at 1pm with a trip to Virginia Wesleyan.
Meanwhile, Number 17 Lynchburg blanked men’s soccer 4-0. The Hornets finish up at 6-10-1, and 3-7-0 in the ODAC
And women’s golf finished it’s Fall slate with a 12th place finish at the Berry College Invitational. Natalie Hill led SU with a combined 174 over the 2 days.
Today, women’s soccer hosts Bridgewater, while volleyball entertains Eastern Mennonite. SU football returns to action Saturday with a 2pm kickoff against Bridgewater. The Hornet Pre-Game Show starts at 1:30 on The River 95-3.
The Boston Red Sox doubled up the LA Dodgers last night 8-4 at chilly Fenway park to take a 1-0 World Series lead. The Sox roughed up LA starter Clayton Kershaw for 5 earned runs in 4 innings, while Eduardo Nunez broke the game open with a 3-run homer. Game 2 of the Fall Classic is tonight in Boston.
The Washington Capitals return to the ice tomorrow night in Edmonton. The Caps are off to a 4-2-2 start, good for a second-place tie in the Metro Division. Fece off is at 9pm on NBC SportsRadio 1450.
The Washington Wizards continue their West Coast trip tonight against the Golden State Warriors. Tip-off is at 10:30 Eastern.
And R-Dog and Coach C talk high school football, college football and more tomorrow night at 7 on the AP award-winning “Sports Dogs After Hours” on The River 95-3.
