Florence Plays Havoc With Local HS Football…Soto Powers Nats Sweep
As Hurricane Florence bears down on the Mid-Atlantic, local high schools have altered their football schedule this week. Here are the changes:
Sherando will play at Loudoun Valley tonight
Strasburg will play tonight at Rappahannock in a game originally scheduled for Strasburg.
Skyline hosts Handley at 7 (although this game may be moved to Handley at 4:30)
Warren plays at James Wood at 7
Stonewall Jackson hosts Luray at 7
There are no local games scheduled for Friday.
As of this report, no change has been made to Saturday’s SU-Hobart game at Shentel Stadium. Should that game be played, air time is 6:30 on The River 95-3
Virginia Tech’s home game against East Carolina…and West Virginia’s game at NC State have been cancelled.
The Washington Nationals rallied past the Philadelphia Phillies last night 7-6 to complete a doubleheader sweep. In the nightcap, the Nats got 2 home runs from Juan Soto, including the go-ahead homer in the 10th, as Washington won it’s 4th straight. In the first game, Erick Fedde pitched 5 and 2-thirds of scoreless baseball for his strongest outing of the year in a 3-1 win.
Tonight it’s the series finale starting at 6:30 on NBC SportsRadio 1450
The O’s dropped a 3-2 decision to the Oakland A’s. The 2 teams play tonight, weather permitting, at Camden Yards.
