Max Records 300…O’s Postponed…SU Cross Country Ranked
Both Shenandoah University Cross Country teams have been regionally ranked in results released yesterday by the USTFCCCA. The Hornet men are ranked 8th, while the SU women 10th in their respective South/Southeast Region polls. It’s the first time the women have been ranked since 2011.
On the SU sports docket today:
Women’s soccer travels to Mary Washington at 4pm
Women’s Volleyball entertains Penn State-Altoona at 7:30
and Men’s Soccer hosts Wesley at 7
SU Football is back in action Saturday afternoon as the 2-1 Hornets entertain new ODAC member Ferrum. Air time is 12:30 on The River 95-3.
Max Scherzer recorded his 300th strikeout of the season last night in a 9-4 Nationals win over Miami. Scherzer became just the sixth pitcher since 1990 to hit that milestone, as he upped his record to 18-8. Anthony Rendon stayed hot for Washington with a double and 3-run homer. The Nats
play their final home game of the season this afternoon. Air time is 3:30 on NBC SportsRadio 1450.
The O’s and Red Sox were postponed last night. The two teams will play a split doubleheader today starting at 1:05.
And…history will be made tomorrow when Andrea Kremer and Hannah Storm become the first all-female announcing duo to call an NFL game. The duo will handle the play-by-play for Amazon Prime’s broadcast of the Rams-Vikings Thursday Night game.
