State Police Investigate Serious Route 55 Crash
Virginia State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash in Shenandoah County.
A 1998 Dodge Dakota was traveling east on Route 55 Tuesday (8/20/2019) when the driver lost control of the vehicle at around 7:30 a.m. The Dakota crossed the center line four tenths of a mile east of Route 623 and collided head on with a 2002 Chevy Tahoe. The Dodge’s driver, 35-year old Joshua Haggerty of Upshur, West Virginia, was taken to Winchester Medical Center with serious injuries. The Chevy’s driver, a Strasburg woman, was flown to INOVA Fairfax. The crash remains under investigation.
