Warren County Hit and Run Kills One

31 October 2018 Front Royal/Warren County News

Virginia State Police are searching for a suspect in a fatal hit and run crash last night in Warren County.

The incident took place shortly before 8:25 p.m. Tuesday. Two pickup trucks were traveling together that night, and were eastbound on Interstate 66 when one was stopped by a flat tire. Both pulled over on the right shoulder at mile marker 5, and the driver of the compromised vehicle  began working on his front driver’s side tire. It was at that moment that he was struck by an eastbound tractor-trailer.

The victim died at the scene, and according to a Tuesday night release police are currently in the process of notifying his next of kin. Witnesses could only describe the tractor-trailer as being white; anyone with any information is asked to call 540-829-7766.
