STEAM Night Bonds Kids and Standards of Learning

19 September 2019 Winchester News

September 18, 2019

WINCHESTER – Garland R. Quarles Elementary School is teaming up with the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum to bring STEAM Night to Winchester on Sept. 25 from 6-8 p.m.

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. It is one of the standardized learning programs used in many of the public school systems throughout the United States.

STEAM Night is an effort to bond young students to their learning curriculum through the use of fun activities and games related to STEAM. Activities will specifically be geared to grades PreK through 5, and everything will be hands on. Adult caretakers will administer the games and the students will perform them. Students can pick and choose whatever activities they would like to participate in.

Quarles Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization is sponsoring the event.  The cost for participation is free.
