The Strasburg town council announced an extension of the tax deadline on the first half 2023 taxes at their regular meeting May 9.

The Director of Finance Angela Fletcher requested the extension of 20 days to give time to process the taxes.

The Shenandoah County tax file arrived late on May 5 which doesn’t give staff the necessary time to mail out the bills.

Bills are expected to be mailed out no later than June 5 which is the normal deadline for payment.

The extension moves the payment deadline to June 26 after council’s approval.

A video of the council meeting is available here with the tax question starting at approximately the 20 minute mark.
