Strasburg Police Chief Completes FBI National Academy

11 June 2019 Shenandoah County News

Strasburg’s Chief of Police has returned after completing the FBI National Academy Course in Quantico.

The National Academy is a 10-week professional course of study for both U.S. and international law enforcement managers. The program is designed to improve the administration of justice in police departments, and to raise law enforcement standards, knowledge, and cooperation worldwide.  Chief Wayne Sager’s training included coursework in intelligence theory, terrorism, law, behavioral science, law enforcement communication, and forensic science. National Academy graduates also undertake the “Yellow Brick Road” fitness challenge, a grueling 6.1-mile run through a hilly, wooded trail built by the Marines. The Strasburg Police Department took to social media to express their pride in Chief Sager, describing the academy as “incredibly strenuous both physically and mentally.”
