Strasburg Police Chief Sutherly Retires
14 January 2018 News
Strasburg Police Chief Tim Sutherly retired last Thursday, January 11, 2018, officially passing his role in the department along to new chief Wayne Sager.
According to reports, Sutherly is extremely proud of the low crime rates during his time in the position, especially given the challenges that came with diminished recession-time resources and the uprising of the opioid epidemic. He was quoted as saying that “[Strasburg] remains the safest town in Virginia for five or six years now,” and that this is a reflection of the work of his officers and staff.
Mayor Rich Orndorff and members of the Strasburg Town Council thanked him for his service.
