Structure Fire on 300 Block of Ruebuck Road in Frederick County, VA

At approximately 11:00pm on November 27, 2017, Frederick County Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 300 block of Ruebuck Road in Frederick County.
Crews arrived to find a detached outbuilding well involved in fire. The occupants of the residential structure, 12 feet from the outbuilding, were awakened and alerted to the fire by a Frederick County Deputy Sheriff knocking on their door. The residential structure received moderate damage as a result of radiant heat. The Fire and Rescue Department rapidly extinguished the fire however, the outbuilding was a total loss.
No firefighter or civilian injuries were reported. Red Cross services were declined. The Fire Marshal’s Office has determined the fire to be accidental in nature. County units from Clear Brook, Greenwood, Millwood Station, Gainesboro, Round Hill, Reynolds Store, Frederick County Fire and Rescue Battalion 10 Duty Officer, Frederick County Fire Marshal’s Office and assistance from Winchester City and Berkeley County, all responded to the incident.
