SVEC announces Operation Round Up Grant recipients
The Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) announced the Operation Round Up Grant recipients for summer 2020. 11 grants totaling $18,500 were awarded to organizations in the Shenandoah Valley.
Local recipients include: the Page Free Clinic, Page One, Grandparents as Parents (GAP) of Shenandoah County, Winchester Presbyterian Church and the Families Reaching Out Group (FROG) of Winchester and Frederick County.
Funding was distributed to Page Free Clinic for the purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) and diabetic supplies; Page One for emergency fuel assistance to Page County households and individuals; GAP for food, loss of shelter, medical and/or emotional needs assistance; Winchester Presbyterian Church for emergency assistance; and FROG for clothing for foster children.
Funds for the charitable program come from co-op members who choose to round up their monthly bill. SVEC assists with a corporate contribution toward grants.
