SVEC has cost saving tips during the heat

Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) is strongly suggesting members make an attempt to conserve electricity in the coming days.

With extreme heat SVEC members should be aware that higher electric bills could result.

Simple steps are suggested like keeping thermostats as high as you can endure.

Suggesting a setting of 78 degrees if possible.

Closing curtains and blinds can help keep sun out and keep cool in.

Using major electric appliances in the cooler evening hours will help reduce your bill as well.

Turning off electric appliances when not in use is recommended.
